A person suffering from cervical spine often feels pain in the neck and shoulder region. The pain in this condition is said to be quite severe. People also complain of stiffness and tightness in the cervical muscles. According to Dr. Singh there are two main symptoms:

1. Stiff neck:

This type of pain can reduce ROM and due to which there is a feeling of stiffness in the neck and feeling that the neck is stuck somewhere.

2. Pain when moving:

Feeling pain while moving your neck forward or upward. Along with this, unbearable pain is felt in moving the neck in any way.

Which can hinder your regular activities. If it is not treated in time, it becomes a problem for life. In most cases, neck pain is not severe and gets better within a few days. However, in some cases, avoid ignoring a neck injury, otherwise it can leave you with severe neck pain. If symptoms persist for more than a week, consult a doctor and get tests done like X-ray, MRI, CTscan etc.

If your condition is not so serious, then you can also overcome it with some home remedies suggested by Dr. Singh, as well as opt for physiotherapy.

2. Traction is another physiotherapy technique used to stretch the jesus and to separate the surface of the joint or pieces of bone. In this the help of pulling force is taken. At the same time, it effectively helps in reducing the pain.

3. Can practice muscle-strengthening exercises. It relaxes the muscles of the shoulder and neck, due to which it helps a lot in getting relief from pain. Do exercises like neck rotation, shoulder roll, neck flexion etc.

4. Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) and Interferential Therapy (IFT) are known to be effective exercises to relieve various types of acute and chronic pain. It is a physiotherapeutic treatment, which can be helpful in getting rid of neck pain.
